It is no secret that I am obsessed with cruising. I took my first-ever cruise in 2017 and since then it has become my go-to vacation every year. I find it relaxing and it is so much easier on me with my mobility struggle and chronic illness. I recently decided to book with Princess Cruise Line and discovered a few tips I wanted to share with you as both a traveler and a travel agent.
Easy Tips For Booking Princess Cruises
Tip 1 – Hire A Travel Agent
I will always and forever say this hire a travel agent. Now I know what you are thinking your thinking Rebecca you’re telling me this because you are an agent. It is true I am a travel agent but long before becoming an agent; I used an agent. Why?
Well, that is because built into almost all vacations especially all-inclusive ones like cruises, or theme park vacation packages is our commission. It’s simply if you do not use a travel agent you are throwing away money. It’s like going to the grocery store and buying milk but leaving it in the cooler at the store. You wouldn’t leave behind your milk so why not use an agent you are already paying for?
Along with that, we are here to help in as much or as little as you like. We are also a one-stop shop. Instead of having to make multiple calls throughout your planning, you make one to your agent and things get done.
Tip 2 – Sign up for Princess Captain’s Circle
The Captain’s Circle is a loyalty program that offers you discounts and other rewards for being a loyal sailor with Princess. With each cruise you book with them you earn points and that becomes perks like discounts, priority boarding, and more. Make sure after signing up that you use your membership number when booking your cruise whether on your own or through your agent.
Tip 3 – Know What You Want or Need
Knowing what you want or need is important. The more information you give your travel agent or booking representative the easier it will be for them to make your dream vacation a reality. Things you should tell them are your budget, room type whether you want a balcony or an accessible room, and destination. Other helpful information is whether you want travel insurance, everything included from drinks to gratuity. The more information you can give the better your chances of getting that dream vacation.
Bonus Tip – Book Early
When looking to book consider booking early. Booking early means you get a better chance of getting the room you want. Plus booking early gives you a better price and you have a longer time to pay. Also, when booking early there is a chance you will get a better deal with all the promos that come out at the beginning of wave season.
