With the pandemic and living with health issues like MS finding ways to relieve the stress, and depression is a must for my mental health. Some of the ways I do this is to look for the joy in life. Small things that can help me escape like a home spa day or reading.
Another way I find relief is by binge-watching great shows. A few years back I had my husband install a TV in our bedroom for days when getting out of bed was hard. Having a TV in my room lets me watch my favorite shows to help with stress and depression. Watch my favorite shows this allows me to get involved in an imaginary world where I can time travel back to a Regency period, relive my teenage years of the ’80s, or even more, fun solve a murder mystery.
Great Shows You Should Watch Now
Here are just a few of the shows I’ve recently binge watch and highly recommend you give them a try.
Sanditon
Set during the Regency Period, Tom Parker is obsessed with turning the sleepy seaside village of Sanditon into a fashionable health resort, and he enlists the financial backing of the local, curmudgeonly wealthy widow, Lady Denham. Through a mishap while traveling through the countryside, Tom and his wife, Mary make the acquaintance of the Heywoods, a local farming family. While describing his plans for Sanditon, their eldest daughter Charlotte is intrigued and excited and Tom invites her for an extended stay at the seaside town.
Upon her initial arrival, the sensible and naïve Charlotte observes hypochondria, avarice, and attempted seduction run amok. Lady Denham is playing matchmaker for her destitute nephew, Sir Edward, who is determined to seduce Lady Denham’s ward, Clara, and become the primary heir to his aunt’s estate. The arrival of wealthy, mixed-race heiress Miss Lambe, under the guardianship of Tom’s upright brother Sidney, due to a promise he made to Lambe’s father on his deathbed, adds an interesting complication. Eligible men naturally find Miss Lambe fascinating, while Charlotte is intrigued by Sidney.
I feel in love with this series. I love shows set in a time long ago. The costumes, the set, and the storyline all have me ready for season 2.
The entire season of “Sanditon” is available to binge now on the PBS MASTERPIECE Prime Video Channel
Cobra Kai
Thirty years after their final confrontation at the 1984 All Valley Karate Tournament, Johnny Lawrence is at rock-bottom as an unemployed handyman haunted by his wasted life. However, when Johnny rescues a bullied kid, Miguel, from bullies, he is inspired to restart the notorious Cobra Kai dojo. However, this revitalization of his life and related misunderstandings find Johnny restarting his old rivalry with Daniel LaRousso, a successful businessman who may be happily married, but is missing an essential balance in life since the death of his mentor, Mr. Miyagi.
Meanwhile, even as this antipathy festers, it finds itself reflected in their protegees as Miguel and his comrades are gradually poisoned by Cobra Kai’s thuggish philosophy. Meanwhile, while Daniel’s daughter, Samantha, finds herself in the middle of this conflict amidst false friends, Johnny’s estranged miscreant son, Robby, finds himself inadvertently coming under Daniel’s wing and flourishes in ways worthy of Mr. Miyagi.
Can I just say this was my teen years relived? As the main characters had flashbacks so did I. It was been so fun visiting my old friends.

Wanda Vision
Blends the style of classic sitcoms with the MCU in which Wanda Maximoff and Vision -two super-powered beings living their ideal suburban lives-begin to suspect that everything is not as it seems.
As someone who is no MCU expert, I have been obsessed with this newest edition of the MCU brand. I am loving the huge nod to past sitcoms but more importantly, I am completely involved with this storyline. It has me waiting from week to week to see what will happen next. I am invested in finding out just what is going on.
Watch First 3 episodes on Disney+ and a new episode every Friday.
Bridgerton
Wealth, lust, and betrayal set against the backdrop of Regency-era England, seen through the eyes of the powerful Bridgerton family.
I admit it wasn’t until I was about halfway through this series that I became aware that it is based on a book series by Julia Quinn. Having this entire series in a day has me wanting to read the books and have since started investing in them to see where this all leads. I am also excited to learn that season 2 has officially started filming.

Tiny Pretty Things
Follows the world of an elite ballet academy, and charts the rise and fall of young adults who live far from their homes, each standing on the verge of greatness or ruin.
Most people describe this shoe as Prety Little Liars meet Black Swan and I have to agree. I love it because we get to see a lot of wonderful dancing in it but we also get a lot of mystery. There is also a lot of tension and betrayal that happens in this show. There is always another twist waiting to happen.
