It’s that time of year again when teens are graduating from high school and planning their futures. Some will work, some will attend local colleges but a majority of these students will head off to a college. Whether it’s an out of state or a long driving distance from home they are college-bound.
It’s been this way for a long time. I even remember when my son graduated and how excited he was to get accepted into his college of choice. The excitement for these young people makes my heart sing with joy. Then the planning starts and as moms, we begin to think about things. Things like will they get enough sleep, will they be safe, and most importantly will they be eating well.
College Life
College life brings the joy of living in a small dorm room. Space is limited because it’s a small area. You share this space with another person and in some cases even more than one. Life becomes all about school work, exams, learning to take care of yourself even doing laundry becomes a new learning lesson. Add to that early morning classes, late nights in the library, and you’re left with grabbing a pizza on the way home. It’s not a healthy lifestyle.
So when my friend Sara told me she had written a cookbook designed for college students I knew I wanted to share it with all my moms out there.
