Summertime in Orlando brings with it some peculiar challenges for the traveler. For Starters, rain storms seem to always be a potential possibility, but aside from that, the Orlando heat is an inevitability. The rising summer temperature in Orlando is only increased by the high humidity, which can make things very uncomfortable if you did not bring the appropriate attire. Before you begin your vacation, take a look at these summer packing tips to prepare for your Summer vacation at Walt Disney World.
Light clothes
Knowing that the heat will be very uncomfortable, you will want to pack very lightweight, comfortable clothes. Make sure the material breathes and that you were lighter colored clothes. If you can wear shorts that is best. It’s really humid so be prepared to sweat a lot. you will likely be spending a lot of time indoors to stay cool, but it’s a good idea to pack an extra t-shirt in case you need a change in the park.
Skin care
Skin care is important, particularly protection from the sun. If you forget to pack sunscreen you will pay for it, either with a nasty burn, or way overpriced product at your hotel. Make sure you bring sunscreen and don’t forget to apply it. I know there are some of you who know what I’m talking about. put it on!
Hydration
Hydration is very important at Disney World during the summer, so this is one of my favorite summer packing tips. Bring your own water. A lot of water. Here is the thing. You can ask for free ice water if you need it, but chances are, you are going to buy a bottle of water. You don’t want to know how much money you will spend during your trip on bottled water alone. We’re talking triple digits.
Water is expensive in the parks, but you can buy it at home and bring it in your checked luggage. You could get a whole pallet of the same water they sell at Walt Disney World for the price of one bottle. With the recent price increase, it might even be less. Yes. Pack your own water and bring it into the parks with you. It’s completely allowed and it will save you a bundle. Plus, you can use the empty space in your suitcase going home for souvenirs.
Accessories
In addition to dressing light and packing water, you should bring along the right accessories. Starting with sunglasses and hats you need to protect yourself from the heat and the brightness of the sun while you are out there. You may also consider a tiny electric fan, or a small hand towel with cooling technology to try and stay comfortable when spending longer periods in the sun.
Beach Wear
Last but not least, don’t forget to pack swimwear. The swimming pools at Walt Disney World are a lot of fun and so refreshing on a hot Orlando day. Plan on taking a day to cool off in one of the water parks as well. Typhoon Lagoon and Blizzard Beach were made for these hot summer days.
