Life is crazy. It’s busy, full schedules and distractions at every turn. Before you know it life has passed you by. The babies have grown up, parents have passed on and you are left wondering where all the time went. The funny thing about time is it sneaks by without us even noticing it. Time isn’t on anyone’s side it slowly creeps away in equal measures for us all. That is why it is imperative that we make the most of it and make as many memories as possible.
They say daughters are just little girls waiting to grow up to be our best friends. I don’t know if that is true as I don’t have a daughter but I do have a mom and she is my best friend. We do just about everything together shop, travel, and even visit Disney. We call ourselves the dynamic duo and we have so much fun.
A few years ago my mother and I put together a bucket list of things we wanted to do at Disney together. We realized quickly this was a list every mother-daughter should accomplish.
Wonderful Mother-Daughter Disney Experiences
Spa Day
Available at many deluxe Disney resorts. You will be able to take some time away from the busy schedule and get pampered with your daughter at a relaxing spa. Get manicures or pedicures, facials, or massages. They are pricey, but you will feel like an absolute princess during your visit.
Mother-Daughter Tea Time
Have afternoon tea together. Afternoon tea is offered daily from 2 pm-5 pm at the Garden View Lounge in the Grand Floridian Hotel. Here you will sit and eat elegant Victorian finger foods like tea sandwiches and small pastries. As you sip on your favorite tea from elegant porcelain cups.
If your daughter is younger consider the “My Disney Girl’s Perfectly Princess Tea Party.” Here, your daughter is encouraged to dress up as their favorite Disney princess and enjoy a magical journey through storytelling, singing, dining, and take part in a small princes’ parade. Girls ages 3-11 treated like royalty as they sip tea. They may even eceive a special visit from Princess Aurora or another regal Disney princess. Keepsakes are given as mementos of the event.
Carriage Rides
Who says horse-drawn carriage rides have to be for the romantic couple? This is a fabulous way to bond with your daughter as you take in the sights, smells, and sounds around you at one of two Disney World Resorts on a 25-minute jaunt around the property. You can find these whimsical horse-drawn excursions at Fort Wilderness and Port Orleans. Chat, gossip, or simply be still and enjoy this magical moment together as mother and daughter.
Special Photo Ops
Get creative with this fun opportunity to show your crazy Disney side with your daughter! There are many different ways to take special and lasting photos on Disney property. Make an entire photo album out of snapping mother/daughter pictures with your favorite characters! Hop inside one of the many Disney property photo booths and ham it up for the camera, creating a quirky photo reel to add to your fridge. Have a blast with this one! Memories will fade, however, a picture will last forever!
Mother-Daughter Park Day
No mother-daughter Disney bucket list would be complete without a special mother-daughter day at the parks. Choose between your favorite theme park (or visit them all!) and create special memories between just the two of you! Have fun with it—make matching t-shirts ahead of time, book reservations at your favorite park restaurant, toast the day with matching survivor cups, or just stroll the sidewalks shopping. A day spent where it can be all about the two of you is priceless.
Have you ever done a mother-daughter Disney or another trip? What were some of your favorite moments?
